An APIM instance is offline

Weik.io 2026.2

A copy of APIM, the gateway that serves your APIs, hasn't sent a status for two minutes.

What it means#

A running copy of APIM, the program that serves your APIs, has stopped reporting. On a hub server, that copy serves no calls, and at a site, the site’s gateway may be down.

What raises it#

The APIM instance has sent no status for two minutes. An APIM instance on the hub is named hub-<n> after its server. Its status is kept for a week, so a stopped APIM instance stays on the list. An APIM instance on the hub that never reported, or has been silent for more than a week, shows without a time.

What to check#

List the APIM instances, with whether each reported in the last two minutes:

Terminal
$ weikio get apim-instances

See the whole platform’s health:

Terminal
$ weikio platform health

How to fix it#

For an APIM instance on the hub, start it on the hub server of the same number, in the stack’s folder:

Terminal
$ docker compose up -d apim

For an APIM instance at a site, check that the gateway runs there and that its host can reach the hub.
