A reader has dead letters

Weik.io 2026.2

A reader has events it couldn't handle after its last retry, and weikio deadletters list shows each with the reason it failed. Video

Watch: Dead letters, 3:21

What it means#

A reader has events it couldn’t handle after its last retry, kept as dead letters with the reason each failed.

What raises it#

The reader has at least one dead letter.

What to check#

List the reader’s dead letters:

Terminal
$ weikio deadletters list --env <environment> --integration <project>/<integration>

Print one with its event and the reason it failed:

Terminal
$ weikio deadletters show --env <environment> --seq <seq>

How to fix it#

Fix the cause, such as a route bug or a system that refused the event, then send the dead letters again to the integration they failed in:

Terminal
$ weikio deadletters resend --env <environment> --integration <project>/<integration> --all

Discard the ones that shouldn’t be handled, and the problem clears when the reader has no dead letters.
